Description

This app only does one thing and thats to help you take better photos of the aurora borealis, aka the northern lights. Heres the scenario - so you see the northern lights (!! - awesome for you, by the way), but you dont have a fancy digital camera with you. Thankfully, you have your trusty iPhone or iPad! OK! Now what?? Do you know the tips and tricks to take photos of the northern lights ? Great, if you do! Enable manual mode; set the focus to infinity; change the temperature to a certain number; change the ISO between certain values; change the shutter speed to something else....wait what...? Dont worry, this app does all of that for you so all you have to do is find those lights. ISO, shutter speed, long exposure mode, temperature, check check check. There are 3 presets that you can choose from based on the brightness of the aurora lights that youre seeing. Those dont work? Try out custom mode until you get that good-enough-for-me-to-show-to-my-friends snap and take as many photos as youd like! Worth a shot ! (hah..a...was funny when this was typed...)

Works. Settings are buggy

NorthTech · 10 years ago · v1.0

Does work I can only see the northern lights when its set on the faint setting even when they are really bright- still nice to actually get pictures though with a iPhone without this app they do not show up at all

Not even close

Knicknacs · 10 years ago · v1.0

As mentioned by another review, setting it to weak is the only way to get anything on photos. Even so, the image is so faint, you dont know what you are looking at. I played around with custom settings too to no avail. This is a complete waste of money. Other free apps did a much better job. Do not rely solely on this app. You will be disappointed in failing to capture once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

Pretty cool app

Took a chance on this app as I was going to Iceland to see aurora lights. Figured 99 cents wouldnt be the end of the world if it didnt work, but to my pleasant surprise, this app took decent pictures of the aurora lights!! I say decent because quality cant really compare to a nice digital camera. I compared the stock camera app to this app and this one definitely showed better results

Love the app

I love how simple this app is. It does one thing and one thing well. I went to Alaska earlier this month and picked up this app on the way. It took a few tries to capture the northern lights (too much light and my hands were not steady), but was very happy with the results!!!!

Nifty camera extension
