The Best Homers Epic Poems App Today
Great application. It includes the original Homeric version plus the modern Greek translation of Nikoskazankis. To make this App a truly universal one, just as Homers Iliad and Odyssey rightly are, please add other modern language translations that are currently in the public domain. Some of these are: • English translation by Samuel Butler (London, 1888) • Spanish translation by Luis Segalá y Estalella (Barcelona, 1908) • French translation by P. Mazon (Paris, 1937) The Iliad and the Odyssey are undoubtedly the 2 epics that have defined a great portion of Western Civilization. Another portion was defines by the Bible. On this note, there is an App that I suggest you take a look at; it includes many translations of the Bible (Apps name: Holy Bible by Paul Avery).
οὐκ ἀγᾶθός ἐστιν
Again Homer is specially served for native English speakers. This modern Greek fawning upon their American masters is lewd. Pidgin English is really widespread in the world, but there are hardly bigger number of people, who can enjoy Popes translation, than those who can enjoy original Homers text. While there are outstanding translations in other world languages, than English, and they were made by great poets.

Here you have the world famous epic poems in 5 (!) languages, even an Ancient Greek original version. For me as a linguist its just a perfect opportunity to compare 3 translations with the original. Would be even better to have Russian translation added, hope well see it some time (by some time I mean very soon :D) Once again: great job, great app!

This is a wonderful app. I love having Homer in my pocket wherever I go. The only thing I would wish for is a full concordance search for the original Greek (please!)
