One World Dictionary by Ascendo is a leading multilingual reference tool for Apple computers.

The free version is a good starting point for beginners. It includes over 100,000 dictionary translations, 1,000 phrases and 5,000 verb conjugations in English, Spanish, French, Italian and German. Extended dictionaries and phrase books are offered as in-app purchases.

The extended dictionaries are comprised of over 250,000 translations 6,000 verb conjugations per language pair. Translations include multiple meanings, part of speech, noun gender and verb tenses. One World Dictionaries integrate with Lion applications such as Safari so you can lookup words using control-click.

The extended phrase books include 528 phrases per language pair in 20 categories. You can add your own phrases and search by keyword.

The more I use the purchased version of English-French the worse it seems. Many entries are just plain wrong. Cross referrence is impossible. Don’t bother.

Por ser uma parte free ate que quebra o galho no quesito de voz, existe outros app completos, e ate mesmo pagos que nao tem a funcao de voz, pessimo, porque vocepaga um absurdo de caro e nao eh completo. Acho que a App Store do Mac para dicionarios em ingles eh muito pobre de opcoes comparado com os apps do iphone/ipad/ipod. Se nao espera muita coisa da versao free pode baixar.

a versão free não tem muitas opções. vc terá que gastar um dinheirão para completar o seu dicionário.

Nichts nervt mehr, als ein App, das als kostenlos angegeben wird und dann aber erst benutzt werden kann wenn man bezahlt. Und dann auch gleich 7,99 euro für ein Wörterbuch mit sehr überschaubarem Inhalt. Da sollte keiner drauf reinfallen. Man kann leider nicht mit Null Sternen bewerten.

Leider der totale Reinfall. Erst wenn man die zu bezahlenden In-App-Käufe für 8 € bezahlt hat, kann man die App möglicherweise gebrauchen. So einfach nur „Appzocke“. Schade, dass man nicht auch 0 Sterne vergeben kann … :-) Der Download wurde sofort wieder gelöscht … :-)

I use this dictionary to translate academic German. Very often, the word Im looking for isnt in the app, so I have to resort to my desk dictionary. Not worth it.
