Reviews
All reviews →OOTP is just the best! Hands down!
Coming over from previous versions of this game, there is nothing lacking and only advancements. What have I noticed that’s new? The Assistent GM is cool, the names of the teams and official licensing, the vivid visuals, some extra stats, and the all-around fluidity of the game.
The Best Baseball Simulation Around
This game is a must for any baseball fan - I knew I could do a better job than the blue jays GM! The detail (i.e. full minor league systems, foreign leagues, draft/rule 5 picks, etc.) is extraordinary. My only regret is that 5 days of my life have gone by and I haven’t even noticed!
The best!
Takes a little bit of time to find your way around, but once you get the hang of it, it is awesome! I’d recommend this to any baseball fan, especially those that love that front office side of the game.
Amazing Baseball Game
I love it. Lots of great functions. I highly recommend it to any baseball nut!
My favorite baseball game!
Out of the Park Baseball keeps getting better every year, and this time the new version simply stunning. You can manage your favorite MLB franchise, trade players, sign free agents, manage the games, develop top prospects and simply see how your league develops. The career play is unlimited, so essentially you could play for ages. On top of that, the game includes every historical MLB season since 1871 for replay and also sort of a construction kit to build your own fictional baseball world. Theres literally nothing you cant do with OOTP 16. If you are a fan of baseball, you should get it!
Best baseball management game
The MLB license is the icing on the cake with OOTP 16. The developers have added a ton of great new features, including new owner goals (now you have specific short- and long-term goals to meet, if you want to keep your job and get your contract renewed), a new managers and coaches system (they have more speciic preferences now, and the manager will tell you “hands off” certain team strategies if you play in GM-only mode), 2015 Opening Day rosters, a new manager-only mode, Hall of Fame and All-Star Game voting, rain-outs, and much, much more. If you’ve ever wanted to just run a baseball team and make all the decisions, this is the game for you. You can trade players, sign free agents, negotiate contract extensions, oversee your farm system, run the June draft, cal the shots from the dugout, and much more. You can also go back in time to 1871 and play forward through baseball history, as well as create all kinds of cool fictional leagues. (Tolkien baseball, anyone? That’s an actual OOTP online league.)
Tremendous!
I love that I can play fantasy baseball wherever and whenever I want. This game puts you in the chair of the manager or GM and I love crafting my roster and then seeing how they perform over the course of a season. While the game ships with MLB rosters ready to go if you want to prove you know more than your team’s GM, I prefer to play by creating my own fictional league and trying to build a perennial contender. There are so many tough choices to make! Is my shortstop’s glove good enough to overcome his terrible bat? Is my prospect ready for the Show? With a pretty challenging trade AI, they might just have to work for the time being. You can really get lost in this game pouring over stats and trying to figure out how to tweak the roster to eke out a few more wins. Very much a “just one more game” feel to it, too. Particularly when you’re in a tight pennant race!
