Description

PDF OCR X Community Edition is a simple drag-and-drop utility that converts your single-page PDFs and images into text documents or searchable PDF files. It uses advanced OCR (optical character recognition) technology to extract the text of the PDF even if that text is contained in an image. This is particularly useful for dealing with PDFs that were created via a Scan-to-PDF function in a scanner or photo copier. The Community Edition supports single-page PDFs and Images. For multi-page PDFs and batch conversion features, you can upgrade to the Enterprise Edition. Includes support for over 60 languages including English, German, Spanish, French, Chinese, Japanese, and many others.

Installée sous Mavericks, fait très bien la conversion dans la langue de votre choix. Exemple: Capture d’écran d’un texte .png en .pdf sélectionable.

Funktioniert Super! Hat nur ein paar Probleme mit ein wenigen Buchstaben, also nicht fehlerfrei.

Hatte erst versucht ein mehrseitiges Dokument reinzugeben, was eine Warnung bewirkte, dass nur die erste Seite konveritert würde. Tat aber gar nix. Gleich die erste Seite extrahiert und noch mal reingegeben: Operation not permited. Hmpf… Also noch mal neu gestartet und nur die eine Seite rein: geht! Das Ergebnis ist ok, also auch nicht besser als es mein Scanner macht. Aber für umme ist’s allemal ok. Ohne die Verwirrung gäb’s 5 Sterne.

One Page and one page only. If you want more than one page, then the bait-and-switch tactic of one free page and pay for an upgrade app has taken some of your life that you’ll wish you had back in time.

The text came out garbled, not even a word right. The only reason I can think of, is that the text (in jpg format) was in orange, on white. But it needs further work to find if it is the true reason, or the app is totally bad.
