Description

English phonics tutor is an excellent tool to make it easy for anyone to learn English phonics. Learning , spelling , speaking and writing are all in one. You can learn english phonics in four weeks. Develop learners ability to hear, identify, and manipulate the phonemes. Phonics teach the correspondence between these sounds and the spelling patterns (graphemes) that represent them. The goal of phonics is to enable beginning readers to decode new written words by sounding them out, or in phonics terms, blending the sound-spelling patterns. Since the turn of the 20th century phonics has been widely used in primary education and in teaching literacy throughout the English-speaking world.

Not versatile enough with some incorrect phoneme sounds

Decided it was worth wasting a dollar to see if I could use this app to supplement my tutoring resources. Most apps, including this one, unfortunately to not quite have it down when it comes to getting correct pronunciations of individual phonemes. For example, in this app the /l/ sound is pronounced "luh", which is a source of great confusion for students who struggle with reading and anyone trying to learn to spell phonetically, since they would be adding an additional sound that is not there. /l/ is spelled l, /k/ can be spelled c or k, not <cu> or <ku>. Creators of these apps need to learn this and stop adding the extraneous "uh" sound to consonant sounds! Likewise with vowel sounds. This app adds a slight vowel sound to the short-i sound that is noticeable and annoying.
