Description
PhotoWheel is a personal photo library app for the iPad. Its a fun app but its not designed to be the best photo library manager. Instead, it is designed to help you learn how to build apps for the iPad.
PhotoWheel comes from the book Learning iPad Programming, written by Kirby Turner and Tom Harrington. The book takes you through the entire process of designing, prototyping, and implementing a real world iPad application, i.e., PhotoWheel.
PhotoWheel features include:
* Importing photos from the Photos app library
* Importing photos from Flickr
* Sharing photos via email
* Viewing photos in a full screen browser and on your TV using an Apple TV
* Adding cool effects to your photos
These features and more mean you, as a programmer reading the book, learn many elements of iOS development including:
* Storyboards, scenes, and segues
* View controller containment
* Core Data and iCloud Synching
* Printing with AirPrint
* Wireless video out with AirPlay
* RESTful web services
Visit learningipadprogramming.com to learn more about the book and on-going work with PhotoWheel.
PhotoWheel is not only free, and it is open source software meaning you can download the source code and start making your own changes to the app. Visit github.com/kirbyt/photowheel to get the source code.
