pictRescueLite lets you try all the capabilities of pictRescue with a fully functional version that will find all your Picts, but will only rescue/convert up to 4 of them.

pictRescueLite does not include or support In-App Purchases. If youre happy with the capabilities, you can purchase the Pro version directly on the App Store.

Find your old .pict and .pct files from your old Macintosh® computer disks - and rescue them - convert them to standard JPEG format without loss of resolution, clarity or color. And if they had transparency, also save a copy as a standard PNG.

pictRescueLite hunts down all the PICTs from wherever you tell it to start, and converts them, creates or fixes the EXIF meta data, corrects time stamps and file systems date/times, AND provides an enhanced, unique, professional name.

pictRescueLite algorithm examines each PICT and compares it to all others, and skips the duplicates, allowing you to potentially eliminate tons of wasted space.

pictRescueLite enhances the original name to include professional meta data to clearly and uniquely let you identify every single image - making it easier to sort and sift through all your images. (The original name of the image shows in the onscreen display, the converted image is saved with the new professional name.)

The new name will be in the format:

"original name"_Now-" pixels wide" x" pixels high-pixels_Was-" pixels wide" x" pixels high"-pixels-"original-filesize""-bytes_Taken-YYYYMMDD-hhmmss-" Camera Manufacturer"-" Camera Model"-" original image type" .jpg

for example:

CoyoteMoon_Now-716x1024-pixels_Was-1690x2415-pixels-12225268-bytes_Taken-20020304-162514-unknown-maker-unknown-camera-PCT.jpg

pictRescueLite DOES NOT change or delete any original image, data, file or names - it places the newly created JPEG in the Archive at the location you specify, and CANNOT and WILL NOT write over your existing PICTs.

Some features of pictRescueLite:

▪ Rescue/convert from as many source folders and disks as you like.

▪ Intelligently export your converted Picts as JPEGS from your Archive(s) to Apple Photos.

▪ Send converted Picts as JPEGS directly from your Archive(s) via Apple Mail and Apple Messages.

▪ Copy converted Picts as JPEGS from your Archive(s) to other locations.

▪ Print converted Picts as JPEGS as full resolution prints, or in unique, 35-mm style contact sheets.

▪ Display internal metadata for individual converted Picts as JPEGS.

▪ Open a copy of individual converted Picts as JPEGS in your default image editor or Apple Preview.

pictRescueLite is a free, no-obligation, Lite version that will allow you to create an Archive, select multiple sources, find all the Picts and see the results of randomly consolidating of up to 4 Picts. Later, if you are satisfied with the capabilities, you can purchase the Pro version directly on the App Store.

Terms of Use and Privacy Policy are at: https://www.woulasoftware.com/privacy-policy-and-terms-of-use-for-pictRescue.html

Please note:

▪ pictRescueLite lets you try out all the capabilities but is limited to rescuing/converting 4 Picts.

▪ By design, all sources/archives must be internal or locally attached disks; cloud-based or network disks cannot be used as sources or archives.

▪ PICT files will be converted (if possible) to JPGs or PNGs.

▪ pictRescue makes every attempt to identify duplicate Picts. In some cases, an image may visually appear to be a duplicate of another, but it might be a different resolution, or has been modified in some way, or has been saved in a different format. At this time, pictRescue does not differentiate these cases.

▪ Throughput and performance for pictRescue are directly tied to the speed of your computers CPU and graphics card, the amount and speed of memory, and the speed and type of the storage media for the Archive(s) and all of the sources. Depending on these factors, consolidating could take a long time, and switching between tabs could appear slow.
