Description

This is a no-ads, no-tracking, no-subscriptions version of the first and most popular pinochle app for iPhone, iPad and Mac. Play single- or double-deck with configurable options including meld bids and shoot the moon. Pinochle Plus is updated frequently with user-suggested features and AI improvements. To try before you buy, see our free, ad-supported Pinochle app. If you prefer, our other pinochle app with no advertising, Pinochle Gold, has more card backs and tabletops to choose from, and adds support for several languages. Pinochle is a card game played with a 48- or 80-card deck of 9s, 10s, jacks, queens, kings and aces. The game consists of a repeating sequence of bidding (for the right to name the trump suit and optionally to pass cards), melding, and trick-taking. Players score points by melding various card combinations and by taking tricks. In this version, one human player (South) plays with a computer partner (North) and two computer opponents (West and East). BIDDING: Each player bids the number of points she thinks she can make with her hand. Player to the dealers left is required to bid, and bidding proceeds to the left. Players who pass are out of the bidding for that hand. A typical high bid is 35 points (for 48 cards) or 60 (for 80 cards). High bidder names the trump suit for the hand and optionally exchanges cards with her partner. MELDING: Players get points by showing various card combinations. A run (or straight) in the trump suit is worth 15 points. Aces in all four suits is 10 points. Pinochle (queen of spades and jack of diamonds) is 4 points, or 30 points for double pinochle (two of each). TRICKS: Play begins with the high bidder, and proceeds around the table to the left, 4 cards per trick. Each trick has a winner, who gets 1 point per ace, ten or king. SCORING: If the high bidder fails to make the bid (his teams total meld plus trick points is less than the bid), the bid amount is subtracted from the team score. Play continues until one team goes out.

Great app

Its fun, challenging and a good boredom reliever. I always preferred pinochle to bridge even though its a bit old fashioned - was much more popular with previous generations. This app is perfect - no glitches at all.

This is a great app that the developer improves often. It plays a intuitively as any computer could hope. If you like pinochle already you should get it.

Sad to say this game just doesnt deliver

I love pinochle; however, this automated version leaves a great deal to be desired. After losing the vast majority of games, I started showing all the cards and noticed a pattern of the opponents having aces and straights while my team would have 1 or 2 aces and lots of non point cards. Anyway, not much fun to play.

I use to love this game, it was by far the best version out there.....UNTIL the latest update! Previously, you just shook your head at some of the plays that your partner in the game would make, or some of the decisions they made... but for the most part, they gave you reasonable cards when passing.....and at least had something worthwhile in their hand if they were bidding 100! but NOW....OMG! They will outbid YOU and then make trump out of a suit they only have 5 cards instead of the suit they have 10 or 12 cards in! And heaven forbid that they pass you any cards they have in your trump, or jack of diamonds, queen of spades, even if they only have one or the other and you would have had double pinochle with that stupid lone queen ( that wasnt doing ANYTHING for them). They have dumbed your partner to the point that you feel they are playing against you! It was never this way before the latest update....not even close to this bad! They have given you what has to be the DUMBEST partner in the history of the game! You make spades trump(as an example), and your partner gives you 2 jacks of clubs, a ten of hearts and some other ridiculous card....all while they are holding 5 or six cards in your trump, or maybe they have 2 queens of spades in their hand,but they give you a queen of hearts, so they keep their MARRIGE in spades. On top of this, they have made it to where you cant see all the cards on the screen, if you decide to show all cards (which you almost have to do, since you have THREE people playing against you ( one of which is your partner). Reviously, it wasnt like that. Its horrible! I want my game back PRIOR to the update!!! Its almost to the point that you dont want to play anymore...or if you do, you quit playing it within ten minutes because your blood pressure is boiling over!
