Description

Display National Weather Service WSR 88D Radar on your desktop. Pick from any one of the NWS radars in the 50 United States, Puerto Rico, and Guam. * Display Reflectivity, Velocity, or Precipitation amounts. * Loop up to 20 images. * Step through each of the images with a mouse click. * Auto update to have the screen refresh itself. * Sort the list of radar sites by state, name, or your usage of the radar. * You control what to overlay on the radar (cities, county/state boundaries, highways, base map). This is just a very simple stand alone app to show the radar image of your choice on the desktop. This data is available from the NWS on their web sites and you can view the same data in a web browser. This app lets you have a smaller footprint to keep a loop running off to the side of your desktop.

Could be a lot more useful

This app offers less than what can be seen on any number of webpages…in fact, there isnt even a way to move to the next radar in a given direction…a major oversight.

Dont Buy

This was a waste of money. You can not zoom in on the RADAR site. You get better RADAR shots on the actual National Weather Service site. I clicked on the PinPointRadar Support link and it opened my facebook page…. with no support.

Needs to have ability to enlarge

This would be an OK app if you had some controls to enlarge or even go full screen.

No Radar Saves

Tao2005 · 13 years ago

Its an OK app. I do agree with what others are saying bout this. True there is no zoom, nothing of that sort. No controls. Only select what you want to display, play loop, and radar selection. I hate having to select my radar, everytime i launch this app. Save your money. You be glad you did.

By pass this

This app does exactly what it says it will do. Its clear about the limitations so dont blame the developer. The problems is people want zoom, remember radar selected, etc. If you buy it, you quickly want what it doesnt provide. Again - dont say your were ripped off. The app description is accurate.
