Play Ball Lineup - Youth Baseball and Softball Lineup Maker at Mac App Store analyse

Ive only created a few lineups but so far this app is very cool! This season I am coaching my kids tee-ball and kid pitch (9-10 year old) teams and I can already tell this app is going to reduce the amount of time I spend creating my lineups considerably without sacrificing quality. Its pretty cool that I can tell the app who I want playing where and when and the app takes that and creates the lineup. And, if I dont like what the app creates, I like that I can tweak the lineup if needed. Again, Ive only created a few lineups so far but all of the setting and inputs seem to be very intuitive and easy to use. I like that I can create a 3 inning lineup for my tee-ball team with no catcher and 2 pitchers and everyone playing everywhere but then I can dial up the strategy for my kid pitch lineup where the games are more competitive. If you coach youth baseball or softball at any level, this app is worth a look.

Definitely could be great. Better than a piece of paper, and I like the ability to customize for the various conditions of youth fastpitch softball (10 players, innings limits and letting me know when Ive left out a position or doubled up on coverage, etc.) However, it doesnt quite do the job as expected. For instance, I input player positions and marked "competitive" but then when it created the lineup, it put players in totally different positions than I had listed for them. So my lefty ends up at shortstop and the girl I specified only in right center gets positioned everywhere and anywhere - and I have to manually change all the positions in that inning to get them in better spots for their respective skills. Ill still use it, but for $5 it should do what is advertised...

Do not use. Constantly crashes when generating lineup. Complete waste of money.

It usually takes me an hour and a half to do a lineup each week. This is because I try to be fair and yet competitive at the same time. This will cut my time on planning the lineup to a fraction of the time. I hate trying to figure out where each player should play each inning. I love the weighted rules that you can apply based on skill level and being competitive or playing for fun based per inning. I have looked for an app like this for a long time. This is the perfect tool for my coaching toolbox.

Huge time saver.

Spent a good 45 mins speaking to the owner to was extremely open to suggestions. It needs a couple enhancements but I can genuinely say its an app I use weekly during the softball season. I do believe that in instructional play, the app should be able to track the players on how many times they have played a position and a rule should be set up specifically to account for the logic. Lets me honest, at the early stages its all Daddy ball and parents only watch there own children. This would help distribute the positions so no one person played a position more than another person through out the season. Keep the parents happy. Remind you this would only be for instructional play

I like the app. It works great for what I need it to do. Ideally, Id like to see the ability to make a lineup based on previous game so that kids(younger aged teams) dont play the same positions as the previous game. The ability to sync across devices would be nice as well. Aside from that, all is good.
