The Position System is a teaching aid designed to strengthen the understanding behind the creation of numbers. The purpose behind the app is to teach children between the ages 4 -8 year old about the creation of numbers. Additionally, children currently in the early stages of mathematical instruction, who are experiencing difficulties, can develop their understanding of, and the meaning behind, the placement and construction of each individual digit in the hundreds/tens/ones position. This app can also be used for math practice in home setting by using the “press for new number” function, or as a teaching aid, for example, a teacher dictate numbers, which is then followed by the students inserting the numbers manually. Once the number(s) is in place, the child is prompted to drag and drop the “Hundred plates, Tens sticks and Single bricks” into their correct placements. The child will be able to self-correct by pressing the “Control bottom” tab.
