Super helpful. Fills needed gap in OS
Perfect and useful
A very useful tool to save ink, and print only what you need: no ads, no advertising, no useless text or image. You can also edit your selection. Just perfect.
Lho provata con OS X 10.8.3
ti dico in linea di massima cè e funziona, qualche volta non mi ha preso particolari segni come punti mettendomi faccine però complimenti, buon lavoro e grazie
Light and easy app to save you ink!
"Print Selection" is a handy little app that lives on your menubar and lets you easily collect and print snippets from websites, email, and other places. Doing it this way avoids wasting ink printing those webpage sidebar ads and other irrelevant items. Since you can append snippets you could, for example, select relevant text from several webpages (or a long page) and print it all out on one printed page. Print Selection can be invoked via a user-customizable hotkey and can also be used with "Services" for direct printing of highlighted snippets within some apps like Mail and Safari. This is a very useful utility and a steal at the price! Full disclosure: Im not associated with the developer but I was a beta tester.
Finally! The way I like to print…
This definitely fulfills the need for those times when you dont want all that extra junk on a print out. I remember way back when (I think on a Windows machine) that there was a way to select text and then just print it directly. I missed doing that, and I have been using Printliminator (a bookmarklet) to get rid of the junk up until now. I mainly use this for printing to PDFs, as I rarely need to physically print out every article that I come across. I simply highlight the text, then right click, go to Services, and print with Print Selection. You can even append if youd like - I havent had a reason to use that function yet. I am having trouble using the "append" function as it simply launches straight into the print screen and then disappears, but this is a minor issue as I normally dont append things. But if you do this often, you might want to contact the developer.
Works well
This little app is a life saver. I just wish Apple would build someting like this into OSX. Untill then this is the way to go.
OK.
Why printing is so LAME on macs, I dont know. You shouldnt even have to have this app. However, you do. So, this app works fairly well, but it doesnt deal with any kind of formatting very well. For instance, I tried to print a selection of an email with colored bullet points and a photo. The text prints on the first page and the picture prints 10X bigger than it appeared in the email, and on the second page, when it was the first thing in the selection, and the bullet points printed last as a series of colored dots.
