Description
****** For short instructional videos, go to www.puckandballwizard.com ******
Want to measure the speed of your slap-shot or the heat on your pitch, but dont want to pay for an expensive radar gun? Puck and Ball Wizard is the app for you! It is the most convenient app of its kind.
You dont need to rely on human reaction times, manual scrolling through video frames or placing your device at awkward distances. A sophisticated object detection algorithm will find your puck or ball automatically!
Save and graph results for multiple players to mark the progress of your team.
To Use:
-----------------------
1. Simply line up the guidelines on the screen with two marks 12 inches (30.5cm) apart. For hockey, this can be just lining up the guidelines with the red or blue line on the ice. For other sports, it is lining up the guidelines with two marks on a wall or the ground.
2. Pressing the record button will give you 2 seconds to shoot or throw. You will hear a begin record beep then an end record beep.
3. You may then replay your shot or proceed to speed calculation.
4. For statistics add the speed in the results page.
-----------------------------------
If you have a stand or tripod, you can set your device for a timed shot. You will have 5 seconds from pressing the record button to get ready to shoot. You will get 3 warning beeps and then the record beep.
The upgrade costs only 0.99USD. With this you have unlimited use as well as a new "Autocalcs" option. With this, the app will again give you 9 seconds before the shot and then jump automatically to the speed calculation. If you choose more than one autocalc, it will then go to the countdown for the next shot. You can perform up to 20 shots in a row.
------------------------------------
For best results:
- take videos in good light conditions, avoid shadows
- use a stand or hold the phone as steady as possible during recording
- record against a background that is smooth
- if using in hockey mode, adjust the offset to match the shape of the line you see in the viewfinder
------------------------------------
Wed love to hear any questions or ideas for future improvements. You are most welcome to send them to [email protected].
We hope you enjoy it!
