I hoped this app would be a replacement for QuickTimer for Windows. It does not have the same functionnalities, ackwardly imports .iif files in 4 different passes (client, item, employee, class), does not have the "service" item... Data input is also a pain since it requires many interactions with the mouse, have to scroll through drop lists to find the items. I thought that QuickTimer for Windows was a bad app, but after having used this one I have changed my mind. Everything is realtive. Unfortunately, we will have to stick to quicktimer for Windows even for our employees who work on a Mac.

Description
QuickTimer is a highly customizable and robust time tracking and reporting application. Use it to track billable or non-billable time for internal projects and/or clients. Then import the time into your accounting software such as QuickBooks* or other accounting applications, spreadsheet applications like Microsoft Excel and many more.
QuickTimer was designed with the basic theory that most consultants track their time as billable or non-billable based on the client, task, item, or employee performing the work, along with a description of the work performed. Time is tracked by the second with a rounding basis, such as rounding up to the next minute increment.
You can periodically export the time that has been logged and export it in several formats including QuickBooks* Timer IIF, comma delimited, tab delimited, HTML.
Features include the following.
- Exports to QuickBooks* Timer IIF format, comma or tab delimited, or HTML
- Import lists of Clients, Items, Employees or Class
- Auto-purge records with options for how long to keep the records for days, weeks, months, or years
- Start/Stop Timer
- Start/End Times
- Piechart of data
- Set defaults for Clients, Items, Employees, Class, or Billable/Non-Billable to minimize data entry
- Round time up by 1 second, 1 minute, 5 minutes, 6 minutes, 15 minutes, or 30 minutes
- View time records options for All Records, Exported or Not Exported, last week, this week, or other filtering criteria
- Rename fields for Client, Item, Employee or Class
- Set carriage return & line feed options for exporting to different platforms, if needed
- And more

*Before purchasing this application, you should check for import compatibility with your desktop computer application, including QuickBooks. The QuickTimer QB Timer IIF export function has been tested with several versions of QuickBooks Pro and QuickBooks Premier; however, because of the various changes to QuickBooks over the years, it is impossible for us to check them all. If your version of QuickBooks does not have the specific import option that says "Time Activities" you should check with Intuit for compatibility prior to purchase. As of this writing, QuickBooks Mac does not have the ability to import Timer IIF data.

Not a replacement for QuickTimer for Windows
review of QuickTimer™ William Modesitt
I use Quick Timer on my iPad and it works well. I tried this Mac version and it did not work well. None of the functionality of hte mobile app. It cannot import lists from Quick Books Pro! It had trouble exporting test data to Quick Books Pro. The organization of the app is very confusing, not at all like the mobile app for the iPad. I spent 3 hours trying to make it work and gave up in frustration. Sorry, but I recommend that users rely on the mobile version only.
Great for professional services businesses
We have been using the IOS version of QuickTimer for years. Our entire engineering team uses it inhouse and while out at clients and it has been a critical part of our operation. Its easy to configure and use and simply works. This new desktop version is equally useful. Now, we can simply copy/paste time entry details between our task system right into Quick Timer, saving us time and avoiding mistakes. We still use the IOS version for mobile. If you use the native QuickBooks timer application, this suite of apps is well worth the tiny amount the developer is charging. Youll make your investment back in about 30 minutes or less. Highly recommended!!
Perfect for Mac users who use QuickBooks
I have the iOS version of this app and was delighted to discover a Mac version. Its works great and does what it should with no fuss and a very small memory footprint. Thanks to QuickTimer I gave up the QBTimer.exe a long time ago. Why Intuit never developed an app for Mac users is beyond me but the developer for QuickTimer is extremely helpful and responsive and is always working to improve this app. Highly recommended.
Nice little app
Does what it needs to do. I’m not using it for Quickbooks, but it still works nicely for tracking time spent on projects.
Great app for tracking time and exporting to QuickBooks
This has been a great addition to our Mac user’s ability to accurately track time while permitting seamless import to QuickBooks. The developer has been very responsive to our requests for support and has worked with us to customize the export options. Highly recommended.
GREAT app for time entry to be exported to PC databases.
For those that are tied down to PC Quickbooks databases but like working on you rmac, this app is for you. I can enter my time for the week and it exports to Quickbooks Pro 2015 seamlessly. When I go to invoice my time entries pull right up. My hope for the future is that there is a Notification Center widget which will allow you to enter a time entry quickly without having to have the app open.
