It can also track how much money youre spending and even how much tar youre getting into your lungs. Get updates on the benefits youll experience when you quit and stay smoke free. * Even after 20 minutes from stopping smoking, your heart rate will already start to drop back towards normal levels. * After 2 hours, your heart rate and blood pressure will have decreased to near normal levels. Your peripheral circulation may also improve.The tips of your fingers and toes may start to feel warm. * After 8 hours, the nicotine in your bloodstream will have dropped by over 90%. * After 12 hours, the carbon monoxide in your body decreases to lower levels, and your blood oxygen levels increase to normal. * After 24 hours, your anxieties will have peaked in intensity and your risk for heart attack will already have begun to drop. * After 48 hours, damaged nerve endings have started to regrow and your sense of smell and taste are beginning to return to normal.
