Radar Pro is an interactive Weather Radar application for anyone with a need for graphical weather updates. It allows you to view the most up-to-date weather radar data direct from the United States National Weather Service NEXRAD Level 3 Radar Network. Coverage includes the entire 50 states and Puerto Rico.

What sets Radar Pro apart from other weather radar applications is that Radar Pro receives radar data directly from the National Weather Service operational servers. The images are in their true, original format and not a smoothed graphic - smoothing any data reduces its accuracy. This means the radar data is the most accurate view of precipitation freely available to the public.

All Severe Weather Warnings for Tornado (Red), Severe Thunderstorm (Yellow), and Flash Flood (Green) issued by the National Weather Service are displayed on the map and the warnings details can be easily viewed from the Warnings pane.

Know exactly where a storm is and where its going and how it could impact you -- set the radar image in motion and easily begin an animation loop to view storm motion over the past several minutes.

I am not getting real time radar reports as they are over 30 minutes behind "real time". Otherwise I like it

This is a Great Application!

Whether you are tracking that supercell across the Texas Panhandle or the or just wanting to see if your kid’s soccer practice is going to get rained out – this app is for you. If you are a weather professional, enthusiast, or just curious about the weather you should consider purchasing this application. This application’s sole focus is Weather RADAR. If you are interested in forecasts, temperatures, wind speeds, etc. this app isn’t for you. It’s priced well below similar applications with pretty much the same functionality. Which makes it a GREAT CHOICE and you get a lot of bang for your buck. This application is all about precipitation and atmospheric movement. It processes data that can be displayed in a mosaic map, which shows patterns of precipitation and its movement. RADAR Selection: It’s a snap to move from radar site to radar site. With one click you are there. Couldn’t be easier. The radar list is sorted by state in one continuous list, which I think is fine. Other users may not like this approach, but it’s simple and you can quickly get to the radar site you want. RADAR/Map Display: The radar display is gorgeous and the map is fast and accurate. From what I can tell any town/city over 1,000 in population is displayed. The application also displays counties and major highways – which can be turned on or off. There’s no radar scale legend (dBZ) on the main display, but there is one in the help file. Usually not a big deal, but some people like to see it on the main display. One neat thing that I like is that the app remembers where you were looking the last time you closed the app and brings you right back to that view when you bring the app up again. There is no favorites system implemented, but not sure how many people use that anyway. RADAR Products: You can select from 4 Reflectivity Tilts. Which is enough for most users, but would like to see other products such as the Base Velocity, Vertically Integrated Liquid, and Storm Tracks, etc. Timely Severe Weather Information: Every severe warning in the United States – including Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico is available. With one click you can get the details of the warning and with just one more click the map view moves to the warning location and automatically selects the closest radar – very nice and easy to do. RADAR Status Information: Easily check the last reported Radar Status Message. This is great for seeing any operational notes or messages about your local radar or radar clear across the country. Animation: With one click you can easily load the last 10 radar images and begin a radar image loop. It’s only limited to the last 10 frames and there’s no way to control the animation speed, but the basic functionality is there. If you need to step through each frame you can do that too by pausing the animation and selecting the arrows either side of the animation controls to step forward or backward in the sequence. There’s a nice countdown timer in the bottom left corner to see exactly when the application is going to retrieve the next set of radar data. Our Own Weather RADAR Command Center: This app really shines during severe weather! We bring the app up on our Mac Mini Media Center 52” TV and it looks gorgeous. The whole family gets the complete weather picture. We know exactly what is coming our way! The warnings are updated every 90 seconds, and they have displayed on the screen before the tornado sirens in our community! I could see this app being used at kiosks or large wall displays at airports to display the local radar. Weather RADAR Command Center – Minivan Version: A cool thing we do with this app is when we travel in our minivan. Using a 3G mobile hotspot with our MacBook Air, the family radar command center goes mobile. Very nice indeed – yeah we are nerds. Developer Support: I’ve e-mailed the developer a couple of times with various questions and the response was immediate and on target! It doesn’t get much better than that. I’ve told him about things I’d like to see in future release and he’s looking at implementing them all! Here’s a list of features that would be great.: Storm Tracks Range Rings Distance Measuring Tool The developer said all of those things were in the works – that’s listening to your customers! All in all, this app is a no-brainer for anyone wanting a great RADAR app for the Mac. Yeah, there are others out there for more money, but you won’t get any more functionality with those over priced apps! I saw another reviewer recommend the weatherunderground website over this app -- you have to be kidding! This app is hands down better than that website and doesnt have advertisments covering half the screen like the weatherunderground. If you want to see ads for refinancing your mortgage go to that site. If you are serious about weather use this app! I highly recommend this app – 5 STARS!

Good app but need some updating.

Good App but the data doesnt refresh as I went to work this morning and came home in the eve and it was still looping from this morning. Also smoothing and storm tracks hopefully on the next update.

Work in Progress...

Certainly a work in progress but the developer seems committed to making this the best OSX radar app on the market. He has responded quickly to any questions I have had. Great Product and Awesome developmental direction...

Radar update

The radar update needs to be faster then 300 seconds and also when you use the app at 10pm the radar says time will be 9:15pm.

Dont waste your money !

I downloaded this app and didnt even have it installed for 5 minutes. There are many better websites out there that are free ! Dont waste your money. You cant even input your address like you can on FREE websites !

Will get better...

The warnings need to get fixed, they are not even there when try to see them. Needs to update quicker too... I hope in the next couple updates that it will get all the problems fixed.
