RandomAtom provides an innovative new method for generating lottery numbers for popular games around the world based on a unique stream of true random numbers.
The odds of winning the UK National Lottery Lotto game are approximately 1 in 14 million, whats more your chances of winning are not based on the numbers you choose, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 are just as likely to be drawn as any other six digit sequence. There is however one factor that can help, although your odds of winning remain the same you can improve your chance of not having to share your prize by picking combinations of numbers that are less likely to be duplicated by others.
The problem with most other lottery number generators is that they are not generating truly random numbers. Most computers use pseudo-random number generators to produce a list of numbers based on a predetermined mathematical formula. What most people don’t realize is that given a similar initial state a pseudo-random number generator may produce matching (non random) numbers and in some cases may even repeat an entire matching sequence.
To avoid this limitation RandomAtom uses the HotBits server at Fourmilab in Switzerland to generate a unique stream of true random numbers. HotBits works by taking a radioactive source and measuring the time interval between the decay of its atoms. The beauty of this technique is that at its core RandomAtom is driven by the inherent uncertainty of quantum mechanics and the laws of nature, as a consequence the results are truly random, with each number having an equal probability of being added to the game.
