Southwestern College of Maritime, Business and Technology, Inc. (SCMBT) formerly known as Southwestern Luzon Maritime Institute Foundation, Inc. (SLMIF) was established in the year 2002 pursuant to the provision of Manual of Policies and Standard in accordance with Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Law, Republic Act 7796. It was registered with Unified TVET Program Registration and Accreditation System (UTPRAS) on the same year. The continuous job employment demands of shipping industry in the province encourage the establishment of Maritime School and support the skills priority of the province to develop tourism industry through satisfactory sea transportation services.
