Description SHADOW Forensic Anthropology includes an stature estimator and a sex estimator.
The stature estimation is based on long bone types (femur, humerus, radius, tibia) and different scientific methods: Pearson (1899) Trotter (1970) Penning (2006) Ramsthaler et. al. (CT-Scan, 2009). SHADOW estimates the stature, based on different regression formulas of long bones for males and females.
The sex estimator, includes a metric (Pelvis) and a morphologic method (Skull). The Pelvis Method (Novotny 1972) requires the length of pubicus and ischio). The Skull Method according to Knussmann (1988) and others uses a scoring model based on several attributes of the skull.
