UPDATE - The online and local prices for scanned barcodes has been removed from the app.

Shopping List and Price Book app is a Shopping List and a Price Book AND a combined Shopping List Price Book. This new app has the following features:

1) Can create a shopping List populated by items that youve entered prices for.
2) Select different stores and see what the total cost of the shopping list is.
3) Select for each item the store that has the cheapest cost and see what the total is.
4) Select specific stores for each item and see what the total is.
5) Check off items as you purchase them.

You can make Shopping Lists of items and you can make a Price Book of the different prices you pay for those items at different stores. But you can also see what the total cost of a given shopping list is at different stores! In this way you can determine when you are in a given store, which items on your list you should get there.

This app is the latest addition to the award winning Price Book family of apps and uses all of the features that the Price Book app has. NOTE: Previous owners of the Price Book app can download all of their data from the Price Book website to the Shopping List Price Book app. Price data can be entered into the Price Book website and downloaded into the Shopping List and Price Book app on your mobile device. Please see Aerendes Price Book app description in the iTunes app store for the list Price Book features that are also in the Shopping List and Price Book app.

The Functionality I Needed

I have used Aerendes Pricebook app for a couple of years now, and while it was great for comparing value across different packagings of an item, it was still a chore to build a shopping list without going through and looking at each item in Pricebook. Grocery list apps I have used, even when they incidentally compared prices, did not have a good way to enter price information for each product. So, for the past couple of years, I have used a mix-mash of Pricebook and Grocery Gadget. Now that Aerende has added shopping list functionality to a price comparison app, it is much easier to enter prices from sale flyers and then build a shopping list that reflects the cheapest price. The app is not perfect at this time, but Im giving it five stars because the developer is very responsive to feedback, and I feel it will become much better in short order. I appreciate the simplicity of the app as well. I do not want to scroll through pre-populated lists of groceries and products I will never buy in order to put together a shopping list. It may take time to enter everything I typically buy in a year, but in the end, the list will be mine, and will only contain items I buy. Its a fine line between a rich feature set and a cluttered application. At this point, it seems that Aerendes Shopping List and Price Book has just what I need.

useless

useless and boring plus confuisig dont know what to do with it!

Great app to save money

This app is exactly what I was looking for to help me keep track of where the best prices are when I am out shopping. It was very easy to figure out and I was immediately able to start entering prices as I was shopping. This goes beyond a simple shopping list, there are plenty of apps for that. Once you have your items entered into the app you can quickly compare prices to make sure you are getting the beat deal. It doesnt come pre-populated so there is some initial investment of your time. I really like the portability this app allows me. I dont have to tote around a paper list or a print out of my spreadsheet. Thanks for making this app available.

Great app

Very flexible

Keep losing data on website, frustrating

This app has great potential and one of the few price book apps out there (that I can find) to compare prices of the same item from different stores. However with recent updates, even following the developers suggestions my data is deleted from the website (which is used to store prices and as backup) when I update the app. Wasted my time and energy! This app is not much use when all my data is deleted. Please fix!

Shopping List and Pricebook

It doesnt work! Ive tried uploading a CSV file to the web site. I get an error. I tried scanning a barcoade, I cant and I cant get out of the scan barcode screen. I try to enter new items, but there is no button to do it. Somthin aint right folks.

I want a refund

Im in the grocery store with my phone and the new app ready to log prices for items I regularly shop for. Thinking this is going to be great. I scan my first item and the app ask if the barcode is correct, yes I say. I enter a description and size and Im ready to put in the price. Its not in the app! Maybe its on the website if I log in at home, this is not convenient. I think how am I to track prices if there is no input. Then I wonder why isnt there some sort of database to match the barcode to the item Im scanning? I need to fill in the information manually on every item I want to track prices for!! This will be too time consuming. I dont know about other peoples expectations when buying an app but I expect a utility to help make my life easier. This app does not seem to do that. I dont have the time to input the items while shopping. I wanted an app that I cam scan items that I shop for and like to have in stock at home. I could quickly add price information. I would also like to input the name of the store, price, quality and a sale price. That way if Im shopping at store "B" and the tag shows a sale price I can check my records to see if this is truly a good price. This app does not satisfy my, I thought, simple needs. I seen better scanning capabilities on free apps.
