This app uses Dolch sight words list as a main part in learning how to read. This app contains words cover all 1st grade which are about 40 words. Sight Words 1st Grade Flashcard is perfectly designed for spelling words for kids in first grade. A simple and clean flashcards that help teach the 40 most common English words using visual and hearing stimulation. Your children will see the words and hear the words pronunciation. Reading and spelling are an important education part for helping first grade kids learn how to communicate. It is also appropriate for preschool students, Kindergarten students and grade 1 students, and even ESL (English as a Second Language) and ELL (English Language Learner) students. The original Dolch Sight Words List is a list of frequently used words compiled by Edward William Dolch, PhD. The list was first prepared in 1936. Though Dr. Dolch compiled the list based on childrens books of his era. The list contains 220 "service words" that have to be easily recognized in order to achieve reading fluency in the English language. The original word list excludes nouns, which comprise a separate 95-word noun list but with our app, we have included nouns in our list already. All the Dolch sight words should be learned before children attend school and they must be learned in effective way. The study of sight words is an significant part of the process of learning to read. The purpose of sight words are studied until they can recognize instantly. Developed with The English Standards in mind, this app will ensure that children have improved exposure to high-frequency words that appear in text. Sounds and pictures will enable them to acquire the words into their long-term memory. Our list was chosen based on Dolch’s compilations which account for over 50% of words that appear in present environment.
