meh

its free so its chill

Really?!?!?!?

All is going well. Download was seamless. Opened no problem. Made sure it would allow me to print, looked good. Spend 2+ hours typing a list with a lot of words, numbers and ‘tabs’ and I go to print, look at the print preview and I have a long narrow page. OK, I adjust page to US Letter format. Seems simple enough. Look at print preview and all looks good BUT, there is only one page when there should be 8-10 pages. The character count and word count at the bottom of the screen look accurate (1203 words and 9339 characters) but they are somewhere. I did press print hoping the whole document would print but as expected and suspected, only one page printed. Am I messing up somewhere?? I don’t use my Mac for typing lengthy documents, this is really the 1st time, and I wanted something simple that I could print to hard copy. Far from impressed right now. If anyone can help, please. Document is saved and it’s stlll one page but showing word and character count to be a lot more than a page

Saves in odd format

Ever heard of .adoc? That’s apparently the only format this thing saves to. In any of the six word processors I opened one of these files in, they opened the saved file with a formatting tail like this: the opinions of mankind{*shppict {pict jpegblipPageWidth pageWidth = 540.000000}} That’s what resulted when I saved text ending in: the opinions of mankind… So if you are fine with using this little app with its peculiar limitation, it otherwise seems to perform okay. For now, I’m sticking with Bean for my mini-word processor, even though it’s now an orphan; it saves in six formats.

It saves in multiple formats

The review by "XD Eleven" is inaccurate. The program saves in many formats including adoc, pdf, rtf, rtfd, doc, webarchive, xml, html, txt, odt, and docx. To get to these options you must click on the PDF icon in the top toolbar. A window comes up to name the saved item with a drop down menu listing the file formats listed above. If you click on the SAVE icon instead of the PDF icon, you get no options and the item is saved in the adoc format. Not exactly intuitive. I have been using the program for only about half an hour, so I can’t give a full review.

Very buggy & several features don’t work

(Yosemite) This would be a great little writing app if everything worked as advertised! Unfortunately, many features, like columns, margins, text-wrap, etc. simply dont work. Like so many AppStore apps, the developer released it prematurely, with sloppy coding. Hopefully, the developer will correct these flaws and release a new version when everything works!

Printing problems

The layout looks good like a sheet of paper. This application can open documents that load in the finder. However, when you try to print anything a dialog pops up "Load the following paper into the rear tray.” Folllowed by a list of what to load. There is no provision to change this to the front tray or cassette. So choose Save as a PDF you end up getting the same dialog and you cannot save as a PDF. There are no preferences to be set. Consequently all you have is a platform to write on with out the ability to print or save as a PDF. All you can do is Copy and Paste our work into another application in order to print it. or save it as a PDF. Therefore, I grant this app. two stars which should give the author some incentive for improvements in the near future.
