SkySafari
Gut, um sich zu informieren, unbrauchbar zum Planen von Beobachtungen
Koordinaten werden nur als Länge/ Breite angegeben. Wenn man ein Teleskop mit äquatorialer Montierung hat, braucht man aber Rektaszension und Deklination. Bei anderen Programmen, z. B. RedShift und Stellarium ist es kein Problem, sich die Koordinaten anzeigen zu lassen, die man braucht. Uhrzeiten kann man nur mit AM/PM angeben. Wie umständlich ist das denn? Man kann nachlesen, ob man ein Objekt mit einem „großen“ oder „kleinen“ Teleskop beobachten kann. Interessanter wäre es, wie ein Objekt mit einem bestimmten Teleskop und Okular zu sehen ist. Schön ist dass man sich Planeten von nahem ansehen kann. Aber bei Redshift kann man ein beliebiges Objekt, egal ob Planet, Mond oder Galaxie von allen Seiten ansehen, indem man es dreht. Bei RedShift und Stellarium kann man auch zum Ausgangspunkt zurückkehren, nachdem man sich einen Planeten von nahem angesehen hat. Mit SkySafari 4 kann man das nicht so einfach. Selbst das Zoomen ist erheblich umständlicher als bei RedShift und Stellarium. Ich hatte erwartet, dass Sky Safari irgend etwas bietet, was die beiden anderen Programme nicht (so gut) können. Dabei bin ich sehr enttäuscht worden.
für mich die Beste App zum Planen von Fototouren
da ich gerne Nachts los ziehe und versuche Urbanes mit dem Nachthimmel zu kombinieren ist für mich inzwischen SkySafari zum unverzichtbaren Werkzeug geworden. Man kann sehr gut sehen wo z.B. die Milchstrasse gen Mitternacht stehen wird. Ebenso findet man recht schnell draussen im Feld die markanten Sterne, die einem dann den Weg oder eben die Milchstrasse zeigen. Sehr gute App, sehr zu empfehlen. den 5ten Stern gibt es wenn man eine Wiese zur Auswahl für die „Erde“ bekommt.
Good application, but there are issues with this version update
After update is installed it is still displayed in available updates, seems strange

Well thought out and designed. Easy to use. All the features it should have for an amateur astronomer or casual observer.
Could Use Some Reference Lines
Its the best Ive seen in terms of the ease of use and the clarity of the display, but it would be nice if reference lines were added: the ecliptic, celestial equator, right ascension and declination.
Smooth running
Runs nice and smooth on my 2009 MacBook Pro. The GUI is simple and intuitive. Plenty of information to satisfy the novice amateur astronomer. Makes a great planning tool.
