Description

The Official App of the Smithsonian’s National Zoological Park features maps, tours, animals, news, and today’s activities. Hundreds of animal species are described in detail along with live cams and movies featuring our pandas, gorillas, lions, tigers, and flamingos. This spectacular app includes information, tips, and guided tours for everyone including kids, parents, and anyone who loves to visit the zoo. Whether visiting the National Zoo in person or virtually, this app is designed to educate and entertain while providing a convenient tool that anyone can use. Our app provides detailed maps, parking information, animal viewing, special events, and tour highlights. Information on each animal species can be viewed using search functions, by name, category, and location. The National Zoo’s conservation programs are also highlighted. Just for fun, the app incorporates a Zooify Yourself feature to create your own animal features using any picture along with Animal Voices. The app provides a “connection” to all our social media initiatives along with the ability to support the National Zoo.

After download and open, the app is too slow to open and view...animals never awake. Sorry, but not what I had expected. Navybear

Good info but cams lacking

Love the info about the animals and the videos are great. The cams, however, are not so good. The ones that work have such poor quality you cant see anything. One doesnt load at all. And the panda cams wont play-all you get is a still picture. I would have rated it a 5 if there were more cams, as well as cams that actually worked and you can actually see something!

Ive been to the National Zoo and the zoo is excellent. I love the zoo, but this app is crap. How do I get my $1.99 back? The app has already been deleted from my iPhone.

Cams dont. They tell you to buy the app to watch the cam on iPad but the cams dont work.

I said in my original review (below) that I would update it if the cameras started working. As of today they seem to be working well, so I update from one star to three stars. If they continue working for the next week or two I will update again and give a higher rating. When I pay for an app I expect it to work. This one does not. I bought it mainly to watch the new panda cub but have been 100% unsuccessful in the 24 hours Ive owned the program. None of the cams work, not just the panda cam. The cameras do work on my PC, so it must just be this Apple app. Ill keep trying, and when and if it ever works I will alter this review.
