Description

Take your training with you! With the WMI SOAP Note app, you’ll be ready to respond. Its the perfect tool to help you perform a thorough patient assessment in training or real life. Record your findings, embed photos, and then share by email. This powerful documentation tool developed by the NOLS Wilderness Medicine Institute (WMI) will help you keep your assessment skills fresh. When managing a sick or injured person in an emergency, it can be difficult to remember all of the assessment steps. Using the Subjective, Objective, Assessment, and Plan (SOAP) approach to recording information, this template-driven app helps you remember the order for an assessment and transform your scattered notes into a complete and organized patient report. You can create your SOAP notes offline and later email them. The WMI SOAP Note app is perfect for use both in training and in wilderness environments. Whether you use this app personally or professionally, in the wilderness or the frontcountry, it will help you stay sharp and document patient encounters like a pro. Features: • Document in an offline environment. • Get location coordinates using your device’s GPS. • Choose from data menus to improve quality and consistency. • Use iOS features such as spellcheck while writing narratives. • Avoid losing data with autosave. • Explore helpful information windows. • Check vital signs with the built-in timer. • Record multiple sets of vital signs. • Add photos and captions to supplement your notes. • Share your report by email. • Review, edit, and store as many SOAP notes as you need.

Looks good generally

After doing a quick seems really nice. The one thing worth adding that is comparatively easy (it would also be nice to have coordinates reportable in UTMs, but that is way too much work) is that Associated with quality there is an option for other, but then no free form text box directly with it to write out their description

Excellent documentation app!

This is exactly what is needed for emergency medicine personnel to document medical incidents. The app is easy to use, has a clear progression and helpful integrations such as location coordinate finding, photo uploading and sharing (email the note) functions. Great job to NOLS WMI for developing this! A go-to app for getting all the info down about a medical emergency in a clear format.

Im a WEMT through NOLS and work in the South as an EMT. I take groups out on treks through many of the state parks. This app is excellent! It allows for simple & easy input of pt. information, it autosaves so you wont lose the information, allows for GPS coordinates and the ability to disburse the information to whoever you handing the pt. off to. Great app!

Finally!!

Clean, easy, helpful! I am really really excited to have this app! And its free! I like the little "hint" questions for each box. I was especially excited to be able to include photos and email straight from the app. A couple additions for the next update: - add "itchy" to the quality list - include a first name line more than just initials - add an additional comments (I want to be able to add add comments after the accident has been resolved) - link with cloud (drop box, Google) for long term documentation)

Solid app

Very usable during assessment and after. Would love to have a timer tool added to the vitals section that can prompt me to take vitals again if I choose.

Great idea, editing difficult

BrianDoc · 10 years ago

This is almost a great app. I stopped using it because it was too frustrating when I tried to go back in and edit notes. For some reason tapping would not position the cursor reliably (and its not my phone, for example I just easily tapped to add this). Also, it would be great to add a reference pdf to the app with all the info from the spiral bound book from the WFR class.
