Description
St. Lucian Carnival, is one of the Caribbeans greatest extravaganzas! The highlight of the celebration takes place, usually during the third week in July beginning on the Wednesday and ending on the following Tuesday.
The endless party includes beauty contests, kiddies parades, calypso competitions, and a grand parade of dazzling and colorful costumes throughout the streets of Castries. Other highlights of the festival includes the wonderful JOuvert celebration is a wild affair involving loud pulsating soca and calypso music and dancing in the streets of Castries. Revelers during JOuvert are free to wear whatever they wish, and party till sun up the first day of Carnival.
Lucian Line Jam and the renowned Panorama, which takes place at the Beausejour Cricket Grounds are must see features of Carnival as well. With over twenty great acts spread across the dates, the St Lucia Carnival is simply a must see in St Lucia.
