A good idea, but the magazines dont open, and that pretty much ruins the point of the app.

Great to see this Stone Soup App

Ive known Stone Soup for years. We are subscribers to the print edition. My daughter loves it. It seems we always have our iPad with us when we go out so I bought this for her as I know shell read it when we are out and about. Also, the music and animated illustrations make an appealing magazine even more appealing. The app is still Stone Soup, clean and elegantly designed, but now even more engaging.

Great app for creative children

Stone Soup magazine is a favorite in our home and the introduction of the app helps brings its content to life. Our daughter loves the animation used in the illustrations, the ratings systems for stories and poems, and extras like Google maps and slideshows. As a parent I love how there is glossary links for harder to understand words or for unfamiliar sayings. Overall a fabulous app for children who love reading, writing and drawing (all the content is submitted by children). Its educational and fun, a win-win. Thank you Stone Soup.

Great magazine... Great App!!!

Seeing Stone Soup as an App is absolutely great. Stone Soup has been a staple in our home over many years... Its a beautiful and unique "magazine," ostensibly for kids (by kids), but its much more that that: its an "institution" that brings creative young people from all over the world together... its an inspiring (and entertaining) publication on the highest level. The app is beautifully constructed and presented with tasteful animation and vivid reproductions, along with other ancillary add-ons, like animation and audio. Highly recommended. Thank you, Childrens Art Foundation for years of enriching so many lives and for moving forward into this latest phase--the app.

Tasty App From Stone Soup

I was wondering what stone soup was gonna cook up next, and boy am I stoked its an app for my iphone! While many May prefer to stay in the Stone Age with print editions, I found this to be a lot more convenient! Thanks Stone Soup.

Wonderful In Pixels

Neskonlith · 12 years ago

We raised our children with Stone Soup magazine. This journal has always encouraged and published quality words and visual art from children who so clearly benefited for the experience of being published....as much as we benefitted from they fine work. Now Stone Soup goes electric with a fine pixel version of their journal that lives up to the quality of their paper journal. Now when I am on a long line at the bank I can stay content while catching up with Stone Soup authors and artists.
