Dedicated to Downingtown East High School Created by Dhawal Soni Student Council is one of the most active student organizations within our school. We plan most of the school’s largest events like Homecoming, Spirit Week, the Bon Fire, Mr. East, Blood Drives and the Staff Appreciation Luncheons. Additionally, Student Council runs the School Store and organizes many Charity events for local organizations. Student Council is a great way for students at East to get involved in the school, learn great skills, and make new friends! Our Student Council consists of two levels: GA (General Assembly) and Executive Board. General Assembly: The General Assembly members are truly the drive behind student council. They are the individuals that come to meetings to earn points and attend brainstorming meetings to share their ideas. Many GA members join Student Council with the goal of eventually becoming an Executive Board member, but others think that GA is more fun. The GA is made up of students of all grades. GA members have the option to be involved as much or as little as they want. Executive Board: Executive Board members have interviewed for and been selected for their prestigious positions. Because they have more responsibilities than GA members, they are held to higher standards. They are responsible for fulfilling their duties as a committee chair or officer. Executive Board members must be in 10th, 11th, or 12th grade. The Executive Board is made up of 28 students.
