Description

Study Lockdown is an app that locks down your iPhone to help you stay focused while studying. Whenever you are about to start working, start a study session. If you close out of the app for whatever reason, e.g. to respond to a text message or check social media, Study Lockdown will react by ending your study session. While you are in a study session, your phone is in essence "locked down" so that you cannot interact with it without Study Lockdown detecting that you are off task. This helps you eliminate distractions and get your work done faster. You can set the duration of each study session, so this app can be used with many time management systems, notably the Pomodoro Technique. To view statistics on your study sessions, you can purchase access to the Statistics tab as an in-app purchase. This also helps support the developer, who is also a student. Kept ending study session even though I hadnt unlocked my phone for the length of time Id set. Also would help to have countdown on lock screen

Need a fix

Once our iPhone gets locked after 1-2 min, the app shuts down and study session ends. Need an update to keep the app running for entire study session let it be 20min or 60min.

You must have your phone/iPod on the app the entire time for it to work. Already deleted it. Better off using the timer that comes with the phone/iPod.

Got me to crank down

First, this app does NOT lock your phone. I guess thats good in case of emergency calls and such. It does offer a countdown of an amount of time of your choice. I set mine from 30 minutes to an hour. It starts a countdown and shows inspirational quotes until time is up. It really did help me focus and not get distracted. Every time I picked up my phone I felt guilty. If you do use your phone, the countdown ends and basically tells you to try again next time. It also totals the number of minutes or hours you spent studying on a task. Overall its a great app! It would be cooler if it locked your phone and forced you not to use it, but this works too!

Terrible app.
