Survival Words combines elements from your favorite word games like Scrabble, Words With Friends, Boggle, Jumbles and Anagrams - and the result is an addicting, one player word game! Swap tiles to make words and move your guy around the board. Avoid enemies using only your vocabulary, spelling skills, and speed (oh, and power ups!). Think of it as Words Without Friends. Hone your word game skills while waiting for your lame-o friends to finally make their move in those other games. In the meantime youll be trying to survive while unlocking achievements and racing to the top of the leader boards on Game Center. So how exactly do you play Survival Words? Well, Im glad you asked! Heres the deal. In Survival Words you are represented by a smiley face. Your smiley starts out in the middle of a grid of tiles. Each tile has a letter on it. Your job, dear player, is to make words by swapping tiles. Any two tiles on the board can be swapped. Use the tiles to create words that branch out from your smiley. When youve formed a word - just touch your smiley and drag out across it. If the word is valid (according to the Scrabble Dictionary), your smiley will move to the end of the word! Remember, you cant move diagonally and words need to be three letters or longer! However, since only making words is kinda boring and that game already exists (Boggle), in Survival Words there are some bad guys that are coming after you. Each time they move, they eat up the letter of whatever tile theyre on! But fear not fearless player, for each time you make a word - those blank tiles will once again get a letter! But wait, theres more! You do have some defensive tools at your disposal. Above the board youll notice two icons - a clock and a tornado. Each are a different color. Every so often, a tile of one of those colors will appear on the board. If you use that tile in a word - youll receive the corresponding power up! Simply tap the icon to use it. The clock timer freezes all the bad guys on the board for a short span of time. The tornado spins the nearest enemy off the board. And that, dear player, is how Survival Words works. Make words. Use power ups. Avoid being eaten. Oh, and one last thingamabob. In the extremely unlikely event that there are no vowels on the board - just shake your device and you’ll get a new set of tiles!
