Swipe Grid is an addicting little tile game (based on 2048) that challenges the user to combine tiles into increasingly higher numbers. Successful play requires the user keeping the grid open to allow new tiles each move. Its a simple game, but strategy will allow for longer games.
Players can choose size of grid (three to five tiles across), how the tiles combine (by 2s, by 3s, Fibonacci sequence, or +1), colour schemes, number or letter scheme, sound effects on/off or volume, visual effects, input mode, and orientation to customize the game to personal preference (note: some options may require an app upgrade.)
Combining the tiles is usually any two tiles of the same value will combine and be replaced by a tile of a higher value (by a magnitudes of either 2 or 3) (examples (2 & 2 = 4, 4 & 4 = 16, 3 & 3 = 9 or 9 & 9 = 81). The Fibonacci version is slightly different where any two adjoining numbers in the sequence (1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34,55,89...) will combine and be replaced with the next number in the sequence (example: 1 & 1 = 1 or 2, 1 & 2 = 3 or 2 & 3 = 5) Note: that because each Fibonacci tile can combine with a tile smaller or greater than itself, this is the easier version of the game. Note also, that the very first Fibonacci tile can combine with itself too - as there is no previous for it. There are two different 1 tiles in the Fibonacci game! In the last mode (+1) the combined tiles are merely the next tile in sequence (examples 2 & 2 = 3, 3 & 3 = 4, 4 & 4 = 5)
Game Centre is used to save the high scores. (You can challenge your friends to match or beat your best scores.)
With the purchase of the basic app upgrade, the game experience can be expanded to include:
1) Extra colour schemes,
2) Automatic game data saving and restoring (interrupted games are restored, not lost),
3) Number schemes can include Hexadecimal, Roman Numerals, and Alpha.
4) Volume control for sound effects,
5) Turn on or off ads,
6) Allow taps for move input as well as or instead of swiping.
7) New game mode of +1.
