Description
The tanpura is the representative instrument generating drone sound for vocalist or instrumentalist in south asian music, specially Indian classical music.
The Tanpura Touch is a emulated tanpura application for iPhone and iPod Touch.
The common tanpura has 4 string that tuned in 5881, sol do do do, in indian sargam: Pa, as, as, Sa. This tuning is changeable. It depends on the raga(similar to western mode in short) and the register of main player.
The tuning of tanpura is very difficult. The exact tuning is important for main player and listener both. For exact tuning, you have to train your ear.
The changing tune of each string on this Tanpura Touch app is not easy like real tanpura.
