Description
Macros for Things, hassle-free!
If you use Things & find yourself creating similar tasks daily, ThingsPop will save you time.
Anytime you want to create a particular type of task, just hit a hotkey and it will appear instantly in Things.
---
Youre probably already familiar with the Things Quick Entry box - its a great way to capture tasks quickly without too much disruption to your workflow.
The trouble is, every time you bring up the Quick Entry box, its empty and you have to add the detail of your task into it.
With ThingsPop, your new task can have most of the detail pre-filled to save you time:
• Any subject/description
• Project
• Area
• Tags
• Schedule Date offset (i.e. show in Inbox x days after creation)
• Due Date offset (ie due in x days)
• Clipboard contents added to notes
Heres a simple example to give you an idea of how ThingsPop might be useful to you...
Jason is on the phone a lot, to colleagues & customers. Often, he wants to be reminded to follow up on a call either 1, 3 or 5 days later.
In ThingsPop, he creates a Group Pop with the following settings:
Type: Phone Call
Subject: Follow up on call with …
Project: Support Desk
Area: Office
Tag: phone
Due: 1, 3 or 5 days after creation
Hotkey: Alt-CMD-F
Now, every time he gets off the phone, he just hits the hotkey combination & chooses 1, 3 or 5. If he wants to add a note or make any changes, he can do so and ThingsPop then creates his task for him, pre-filled & scheduled.
So, if he wanted to follow up on a call with John after 3 days, he would just hit the following keys:
Alt-CMD-F [to open the group]
B [to select the 3-day option]
John [to update the tasks subject to read Follow up on call with John]
ENTER [to execute the pop & create the task in Things]
The task is added to Things with the correct subject, project, area, tag and due date without having to leave the keyboard.
Jason saves at least 30 seconds every time he uses this Pop.
---
ThingsPop is free to try out and provides a number of built-in Pops. Try them out and youll soon recognise how useful they are t you in your daily workflow.
The in-app upgrade to ThingsPop Pro lets you create Group Pops for even more versatility and tie-saving.
