The uConnectHealth program is here to support young people’s knowledge, skills and confidence to access and negotiate the health system. Local services and professionals are keen to build trust and relationships with young people in their local community
The uConnectHealth program model aims to address these needs by educating and raising awareness of the pathways for youth to access health assistance in the appropriate areas of need without fear of judgment, loss of confidentiality and a sense of empowerment.
The main aims of the uConnectHealth program are to:
- Develop relationships between young people and local GPs/ health care professionals
- Provide youth education about accessing health care
- Provide youth education about specific health issues.
