The UKPDS-CV Risk app, based on the United Kingdom Prospective Diabetes Study (UKPDS) Risk Engine, allows healthcare practitioners to input a patient’s profile and estimate that patient’s 10-year risk of macrovascular complications (coronary heart disease and stroke). Using this app, healthcare practitioners can: • Input patient profiles to estimate risk of macrovascular complications in patients with diabetes. • View a patient’s current cardiovascular risk profile. • Use the interactive tools to alter inputs and immediately see the potential change in risk. • Show patients how small changes (e.g., a moderate reduction in A1C) can reduce their risk of macrovascular complications. • Help patients set goals to improve their diabetes management and CV risk profile • Access summaries of the CDA 2013 guidelines to review treatment recommendations and options. • Print personalized reports and fact sheets that patients can take home.
