Do as many or as few of them as you like. • The psalms and canticles match the official English and American books. Scripture readings – United States: RSV. Elsewhere: Jerusalem Bible (with RSV as an optional add-on). READINGS AT MASS The exact prayers and readings at Mass for each day. • United States: the official NAB version.  • Elsewhere: Jerusalem Bible readings and Grail psalms, as used at Mass in most of the English-speaking world. • England, Wales, and Scotland only: Jerusalem Bible until 1 December 2024, then the new English Standard Version readings.

Can the office of the hours be made to pray any easier than this?? What a great ap. They say singing is like praying twice. I think praying with this ap qualifies too!

Prayer Guide Par Excellence

The Universalis app has become a significant aid both in prayer and as a reference for when I’m writing about liturgical matters. The fact that the whole text for any day of the year, for any year, is included means that I don’t have to look elsewhere for the Mass readings, the Morning Prayer or a brief history of the saint of the day. There are a few small variants from the official (and expensive) books, whether for the Liturgy of the Hours or for the Mass. Some clergy and religious complain, therefore, that they cant use Universalis to fulfill their Office obligation. But often these variations are more felicitous and faithful to the original Latin than the official renderings, and as a layman I find that worthwhile.

Fantastic App!

I love the Liturgy of the Hours paper books, but keeping track of where I needed to be was always a challenge. This app makes it so much easier. Fast, convenient, and well-designed. I highly recommend it.
