Volkswagen have agreed to a $14.7 billion settlement for customer buybacks, early lease terminations, and restitution payments over their emission cheating scandal. This settlement will affect nearly 475,000 VW 2.0-liter TDI diesel cars owners in the United States. Volkswagen has agreed to provide cash payments to owners/lessees, and pay for environmental remediation. Affected VW owners will have until May 2018 to decide.
There are two options for the affected Volkswagen car owners: a buyback by VW, or modifications to keep your vehicle up to regulation standards.
