The world of air transportation is rapidly changing how people, packages, and freight move. Innovative air vehicles powered by batteries, fuel cells, or hybrid combination offer safer, quieter, and more efficient transportation options. The increasing focus on Vertical Takeoff & Landing (VTOL) air vehicles are not only changing the infrastructure and location of landing ports, but also the intersection of intermodal connections by land, rails, and waterborne vehicles. For many air transportation requirements of the near future, traditional regional and long-haul airlines will become a distant option that cannot compete with lost time costs.
VTOLup is a “gig-based” mobile application that enables passengers and shippers to identify their best option to travel from origin to destination based on personal requirements for time and cost. By networking operators of helicopters, drones, airplanes, cars, vans, and trucks, VTOLup looks to provide seamless travel solutions through a single mobile ticket purchase.
Why are we doing this now?
Because electric VTOL (eVTOL) air vehicles such as the promise by Joby, Archer, Vertical Aerospace and others are position to transform the air transportation industry and the supporting infrastructure. This will not happen overnight, but will take years to transform the transportation process. Our team of VTOL designers, airline pilots, real estate developers, and airport operators are working hard to establish how to make moving people and goods from here to there “Better, Faster, Cheaper!”
