Why does the app insist on accessing my contacts? Every single time... Youre a gps app, know your role
Disappointed
Ive used the old VN for 4 years without issue. Then someone felt the need to IMPROVE the system. Unfortunately they must have hired the same app maker as the obamacare website. BX now it just doesnt work. First the keyboard froze Since the update it simply wont search Not even a spinning icon to let you know its actually trying. PASS
Bring back the old version.
I am all for improvements, but this improvement is 400 steps backwards. The simple app now asks me every time I open it to access my contacts and does not allow me to say "dont ask again." If I type in the address of a location I need to go to, instead of navigating me there it gives me hotel options. What do I need hotel options for when I am going 8 miles from my house? And PLEASE, give me the turn by turn directions back so if I dont hear the turn because my kids choose that same moment to start fighting I can still see where I am supposed to go. And when I end my trip, the app should stop... Instead of me having to hard close the app so it stops flashing on my home screen. Oh, and there seems to be a bug that if you zoom in to see street names on the map, you cant go back to the view you had before. When on the road, this app should be as simple as possible.

The old version was a much better program, it allowed you to do more and gave better visual effects
Worst Upgrade Ever!!!
I made the mistake of downloading the upgrade right before I headed out on an unfamiliar car trip. Yikes! Verizon, you hired a 12-year old graphics designer with 20/10 vision and a penchant for tiny type, faint screens of the color black, a hatred for other colors, and a disdain for readability. Beforehand, I could glance at the screen, quickly grab the information I needed, and put my eyes on the road again. No longer. It is impossible to see in sunlight, and I missed several turns along the way. I immediately called my husband and told him not to download this embarrassment of an upgrade. Shame on you, Verizon. What on earth were you thinking?
A nifty app…
With some very likable new features… But, not as user-friendly as the old one. I would personally stick with the old one.
Contacts
Actual navigation is ok, gets me where I need to go. But asks to access my contacts all the time! Even though my settings say not to access my contacts. I dont want the app accessing my contacts because I dont actually program any addresses into my contacts manager.
