Description
Travel through time and around the world with the Warrington Museum App and interact with one of the oldest local museums in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1848, the building’s historic features have been carefully preserved, with treasures from all around the world cramming its original glass cabinets.
Warrington Museum & Art Gallery is home to thousands of fascinating exhibits, from beautiful works of art, an Ancient Egyptian mummy – and even our very own "dinosaur"!
The app has a built in augmented reality scanner mode, which allows users with a camera on their mobile phone to search for different artefacts in the Ethnology gallery. Can you find some of the hidden artefacts that are waiting to be discovered?
The scanner also allows you to view models of some of the artefacts that the museum has in its galleries. Point your devices camera at any image of the Warrington Museum and Art Gallerys logo to activate the augmented reality projector!
In addition to the scanner, the Warrington Museum App also allows users to explore the history of the museum through an interactive timeline, which gives information on and illustrates different moments in the museums past. Users can view an interactive map of the museums different floors and rooms too, which informs the user about the different treasures each room holds.
