WebSentinel is a utility for monitoring the content of web pages for search terms at a scheduled time, optionally on a periodic basis.

Visit the website for more information and a demo.

Drag and drop URLs or use the "Current Browser" button to add URLs to the list window. Then Click in the "Search Terms" column of each row to open an editor, and then type or copy the terms you want to search for in the content of the corresponding URL.

Select one or more items and use the "Date-Time" chooser to schedule their search time. Use preferences to specify a repitition, such as repeat every 24 hours. Various other options are available using the Preferences window. In particular enter your email address, and your mail server settings so that WebSentinel can email you to inform you of the search results.

Click the "Start" button to run the schedule. WebSentinel also logs its results to its own console log file named "WebSentinel.log" in the WebSentinel folder in the Limit Point Software of Application Support.

Garbage App

Cannot even find a search term on a Google Search already set to the search term. Garbage. Do not waste your bandwidth.

Not as helpful as I had hoped

This app is free and I appreciate the author giving it a try, but I wasnt able to use this for what I needed to do. I wanted it to watch an internal page and tell me if it had any change, but this program really wants you to specify a search term. I dont know what might be added to that page. The UI isnt very clear when you click the Search Now button. Im not sure if its doing anything or not. Or if its unhappy that I dont have a search term, then it should give me an error. Generally its not really clear what its doing. Id like it to optionally bounce a doc icon or something, vs. emailing me. It wants me to specify all of my outgoing email server info. Ideally it would pick that up from OS X and my running email program (maybe thats not possible on OSX)

Slow as molasses

Its got potential to be a good app but needs some tweaks. Its not that user friendly and runs really slow. Must use specific search terms, cannot just monitor webpages for updates. Whats up with the date/time nonsense? How bout just pressing the start button and it starts?!

I want my money back

This product is not usuable it’s so slow. I want my money back.
