Description

*** Featured on the iTunes Home Page, and in Reference and Education *** Have you ever looked up a word, only to forget its meaning later? Word Vault stores all the words you want to remember and helps you to internalize them. Mundane, exotic, functional, highfalutin: amass a cache of words you love, then learn them all. We learn fastest with frequent exposure to new words. Use Word Vault as your regular dictionary app, and it will remind you to come back and review the words youve looked up. Reviews are quick, fun, and help you to get words out of your phone and into your brain. Features: - Robust offline English dictionary, and online lookup for esoteric words - Vocabulary review system with a configurable schedule - Pronunciations - Images and Illustrations - Translations (See note* below!) - Auto-complete and spell-check suggestions - Thesaurus functionality - Customization of your word list with notes, sources, and favorites - Example sentences - URL support, so you can look up words from other apps: wordvault://define?text=yourtext If youd like to get in touch for any reason, you can follow @chaoticgoodies on Twitter, or email [email protected]. Psst, Educators: You can purchase Word Vault for students, teachers and administrators at a discount through Apple’s Volume Licensing Program! *Translation functionality can be activated with a one-time in-app-purchase. Please note that translations are provided for the words looked up and not for definitions. Translations are provided via Microsoft Translator, which does not have a 100% accuracy rate, especially for isolated words without context. An upcoming update will include the ability to test translations in your language of choice before paying for the in-app-purchase, to help you better gauge the value of the functionality before paying.

Loving it!

Word Vault helps me a great deal to collect, remember, learn and use new words. Its as straight forward as it gets. I first bothered with the 4.99 for basicly a dictionary. But the actual value it already added to my english skills easily outguns that.

The best app for spaced repetition

The best app for spaced repetition of recently learned words.

This app keeps getting better and better

jjrosga · 9 years ago · v2.0.1

I use word vault almost everyday and the new features in the updates make it even better. I just have one thing I wish never changed, an thats when the app converted its UI interface to the iOS 7 look. IMO I simply dislike the flat and basic look of iOS 7 and the fact that all apps changed to this as well. I just wish Word Vault still looked as it did back in iOS 6 where depth, shadows, and realism made it look spectacular.

Fantastic

Awesome app. Great for keeping words you like salient. Simple, easy to use. Still would like to see iCloud sync.

Essential App for Writers

Sayz Lim · 9 years ago · v2.0.2

Im not a native speaker, but this app has taught me to remember many words I read from books. The daily reminder to practice these words introduces a motivating routine for me.
