Gut. Nicht sehr gut.
Insgesamt erfüllt es seinen Zweck. Dafür, dass leidglich einige Texte durchsucht und angezeigt werden müssen, reagiert es jedoch deutlich zu langsam. Eine kleine Performance-Besserung wäre durchaus angebracht.
Kompaktes EN-EN-Offline-Dictionary, phantastische (Online-) Stimme
Wordbook ist ein EN-EN-Dictionary. Ich benutze Wordbook schon lange auf iOS und finde es super, da man das Dictionary offline hat (ich arbeite oft unterwegs mit dem Macbook). Zur Aussprache haben sie eine phantastische Lady engagiert, die wirklich jedes Wort klar und deutlich ausspricht (dazu braucht man aber Internet-Verbindung). Die offline-Stimmen sind Roboter, die tun es zur Not auch. Der Speicherverbrauch ist dadurch auch in Maßen (ich habe ein 124 GB MB Air, da muss man ein bisschen drauf achten; ich habe andere Dictionaries mit hunderten von MB hier im Store gesehen). Man kann in Wordbook auch Online-Dictionaries wie dict.cc einbinden, so dass man sogar auf Knopfdruck die deutsche Übersetzung bekommt. Dieses Feature ist nur online und nicht ganz so handlich, wenn man immer Englisch-Deutsch braucht. Ich nutze absichtlich die EN-EN-Dictionaries, weil ich dann die Sprache besser lerne und weil ich mir die Bedeutung dann besser merken kann. Ich finde es sehr praktisch und sehr günstig.
Simple word
I typed in a simple word like “headshot” and no definition within the context of promotional photograph was given. The only thing that came up were other words associated like photography and portraits. Since my quest to define HEADSHOT and acquire certain criteria regarding the use of HEADSHOTS came up empty, I consider this app a waste of money and will delete it. There is no telling what other information is lacking.
