World Book Atlas at Mac App Store analyse

Diese App ist völlig nutzlos. Sie bietet nicht einmal eine Zoom-Funktion. Der Globus sieht aus wie gemalt aber sicher nicht wie Satellitenfotos. Einfach unterirdisch schlecht. Schade dass man Apps nicht zurückgeben kann.

This app looks cool but all that it does is calculating the distance between 2 points. The problem is there is completely no zoom, so you only see the maps as from outer space. It has no administrative maps, so no countries, or other named rivers/oceans. Anyway with that birdseye view I guess it would have been useless. Another waste of moneys!

I dont know how you can call yourself an atlas when all you perform is this one rather lame function. Its fine to know the distance between one point and another but to end it there is sheer laziness and lack of creativity. Its possible that this is not worth 99 cents.

Does exactly what it says it does, but somewhat limited to famous world cities. It wont even let you add a city.

dear the program makers! please insert option like calculaton distance by sea, by air, by road and your program will be in great demand for transport companies, otherwise this is quire useless.

Diciamo che visto il prezzo, lapplicazione è onesta ... fa quello che dice: calcola la distanza fra due città. La rappresentazione grafica del planisfero e del mondo è tutto sommato carina. Niente di eccezionale comunque ... a schermo intero sul mio Imac 21.5 la risoluzione dellimmagine lascia un pò a desiderare.

This app is not bad, but I find Google Earth (free) to be of much more use. Google Earth lets the user zoom in very close, this app requires the purchase of another app to zoom in. Google Earth shows the path between two (or more) points as the shortest distance on the globe, whereas this app shows the path as a straight line on the flat map, which is not the true shortest path. For example, San Francisco, California, USA to Saint Petersburg, Russia: the true path goes over northern Greenland, whereas this app shows the path as going far south of Greenland. Also, this app only shows distances in miles and kilometers, whereas Google Earth will display distances in a far greater number of units, such as nautical miles, yards, feet, inches, meters, etc. That is good for measuring small distances, like the length of a street or a house. Other advantages of Google Earth include photos and street view.
