X2Pro Audio Convert at Mac App Store analyse

Ich habe mir X2Pro für die Audio Post in Logic X Pro gekauft - und bin bitter enttäuscht. Zunächst einmal das Positive: der XML Workflow von Final Cut Pro X zu Logic ist mit X2Pro deutlich besser als ohne. Wer seine Roles in FCPX sauber benennt und ein paar Kleinigkeiten beachtet, bekommt eine saubere "Übersetzung". D.h. die Tracks sind ordentlich benannt und in der richtigen Reihenfolge. Dann kommt das große ABER: Blenden und Clip Audio Level aus FCPX werden NICHT übernommen. Ausdrücklich der Hinweis: das gilt für Logic, nicht für Pro Tools. Das Programm habe ich nicht im Ensatz. Was bedeutet das? Wenn ich in FCPX die Lautstärke eines einzelnen Clips ändere, wird dies nicht in Logic übernommen. Ein Beispiel: wenn ich einen TV Beitrag in FCPX bearbeite, mache ich in der Regel ein paar Pegelanpassungen der Atmo-Spur, um Sprünge zu vermeiden. Außerdem setze ich Blenden für weiche Tonübergänge. Der Workflow ist wichtig, weil bei einer Abnahme die Atmo stimmig sein sollte. All diese Arbeiten werden von X2Pro nicht übersetzt. Das einzige, was beim Audio Level übernommen wird, sind Pegel-Änderungen innerhalb eines Clips (Clip Automation). Mein Fazit: für 150 Euro hätte ich mehr erwartet. Vor allem, dass die simpelsten Dinge wie Blende und Clip Audio Level beim XML Workflow sauber in Logic ankommen. Insgesamt bin ich enttäuscht darüber, wie schlecht FCPX und Logic zusammenarbeiten.

After having sent two feature length documentaries to audio post-production, I can say that this app meets the expectations we can have for this kind of workflow. Since last version, we can choose to reference or embed audio files, consolidate media with handles…etc. The file created is AAF, not OMF. In FCPX if you set a role for each audio channel, then audio engineer will retrieve named-tracks in ProTools based upon the roles names. Its way better than that we had in FCP7. Also good to know, support team is great, you can check the forum on their website for more.

Super, quand on monte comme moi des reportages TV sur FCPX il faut cet outil pour pouvoir fournir les fichiers aaf indispensables pour le mixage de l’émission sur ProTools. Mon seul regret : tous les filtres et corrections de niveaux audio faits dans FCPX ne sont pas pris en compte dans la sortie caf, le mixeur doit donc tout reprendre à zéro. J’espère que les prochaines version de X2Pro changerons cela.

We are using it on a regular basis. I know it supposed to send wrapped audio file for Avid Pro Tool (AAF) but we use Steinberg Nuendo and it works perfectly. 10/10

FCPXからのXMLを無事AAFに変換でき、スタジオのProtoolsでも読み込めました。 ひとつ疑問なのが、サンプル画像のタイムラインでオーディオファイルを分離しているので自分もそうしてみたんですがこれ必ず必要なんですかね？結構そっけないソフトなんで細かいTipsがイマイチわからない。
