Description

AD HelpDesk allows secure password reset and account modification of user accounts stored in Microsofts Active Directory. This application will work “Out of the box”, requiring absolutely no modifications to your Active Directory infrastructure. AD Help Desk is 100% secure. All traffic between the domain controller and the OS X desktop is encrypted. Gartner states that 30% of helpdesk calls are related to password reset management and account lockout. AD Help Desk was specifically designed with these extremely common tasks in mind allowing you to diagnose and fix account problems in only seconds. With AD Help Desk you can easily: -Diagnose problems with user accounts (disabled, locked, password expired, etc.) -Reset user passwords -Force password reset at next login -Find locked accounts -Unlock accounts -Disable user accounts -Enable disabled user accounts In addition AD HelpDesk supports (optionally) single sign on. If your OS X desktop is bound to an Active Directory domain, you can administer your domain using the credentials of the account your are logged in with, or (if you need to use an account with a different set of rights) you can easily use a different user account. If you ever have to deal with password management or account unlock issues, this product will save you time every time you use it.

Weniger als Erwartet

Saturian · 12 years ago · v1.1

Great but wait

An excellent app for AD password resets

LSCbmartin · 13 years ago

I have had the pleasure of working with this developer, and he is on top of his game! What originated as an iOS app was brought to the Mac platform the "Right Way®". This developer has given careful thought to Kerberos integration, support for dealing with specific OUs and a proper Mac user interface. The Mac platform has been able to integrate well with AD since Panther. Up until now though, if a user needed his password reset, he would have to go to a Windows sysadmin or a delegated user running Windows MMC to get this done. Now, you spend $10 (cheaper than setting up a web site or Windows VM for this purpose), buy AD HelpDesk from the Mac App Store, and deploy it to a Mac user that needs the ability to reset AD login/passwords. Highly recommended for K-12, higher ed and enterprise Mac IT folks that want to be able to delegate mundane password resets for students/workers to a Mac user!!

THANK GOD!

I am so excited that this app is now on the Mac. I use it all the time on my iPad and iPhone and it works beautifully. The only thing I ever had to login to Parallels/Windows for on a dialy basis was AD management - now I dont even need to do that! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BRINGING THIS TO THE MAC!!!!

Nice!

It would be nicer if it had add to group capabilities or match the features available on the iOS version. Good for quick password resets, lockouts, and enabling and disabling user accounts.

A Nice Start

Codevyper · 13 years ago

I needed a way to manage AD accounts on a MacBook at my job, and this tool helps in that endeavor. I agree that while this tool is good in and of itself, it really becomes a goto tool if it could allow the management of Group Membership and other object meta data such as phone numbers and such. My rating is not because this tool isnt rock solid or a quality piece of software, but just because of the lack of more extensive features. Still, its a solid start and I look forward to it becoming the standard tool for AD admins. Keep up the great work. You have an awesome product here!
