Description
Calm Myself Down application was designed by an ABA Consultant using Applied Behavior Analysis techniques to help people with Autism learn how to calm themselves down independently.
ABA techniques can be used by anyone to break down tasks into smaller, more manageable steps using tangible rewards as reinforcers. There are many triggers that can cause children with Autism to feel anxious or angry, and this iOS application can help children stay calm and in control of themselves.
Calm Myself Down application reminds the child to relax their body, which relaxes their mind, thereby lowering their emotional response, and allowing the child to make a more socially appropriate behavioral choice. The goal is by using real pictures and allowing children to choose from a familiar list of activities that are usually calming for them in the Calm Myself Down application, children will feel more in control of their behavior.
