I am a small contractor managing projects up to 500K. I find this software very useful and I believe that it presents me in a professional manner. As it is an App it is slightly limited in a few ways such as lack of editing facilities for the naming conventions as I live and work in France not the US. I would also like to be able to edit the reports a little but cant. These things are frustrating but no more than that. Being able to copy regularly used items from a "cost book" is great. I can price say dry-lining by the square metre in all kinds of different build ups straight off the shelf so to speak. Being able to see a mark up and profit margin in a report as a by product of the quote is also very handy. It has changed the way I look at quoting and for that I am very grateful. Horray for Construction Cost Estimator!

Construction Cost Estimator

In regard to the software, I purchased a cost book but did not know where it was and assumed it had not been downloaded. Then after I got a credit for it from Apple it was there with added complications. Just prior to version 2.4 my costbook disappeared and where do I find it now? In that costbook it is not clear if the materials are included in some job pricings, like doing stairs and it is x$ for a tread. Is it intended that this is the supplied price?

I really enjoy using this app. Has cut down my work i put into quoting by a lot. Have made a bunch of entries in my cost book and it is great. Wish I could get a version for my IPad and sync between my Macbook and IPad. Well work the money.
