The DASH diet (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) is a dietary pattern promoted by the U.S.-based National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (part of the National Institutes of Health, an agency of the United States Department of Health and Human Services) to prevent and control hypertension. In addition to its effect on blood pressure, it is designed to be a well-balanced approach to eating for the general public. It is now recommended by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) as an ideal eating plan for all Americans. The DASH diet focuses on nutrients like potassium, sodium, calcium along with protein and fiber in an effort to decrease high blood pressure which inevitably leads to weight loss. Research has shown that foods in the DASH diet can support weight loss. With a diet rich in fruits and vegetables, you can fill up without overdoing calories. This app contains more than 90 Dash Diet friendly recipes which are specially chosen for their good taste. All Recipes are divided in to six (6) main categories for easy browsing.
